Beyond Shelter, Inc. (BSI) has extensive affordable housing and mixed-income housing experience. We have actively participated in the planning, finance, and development of over 40 mixed-income, affordable, and assisted housing projects totaling over 1,100 units. These projects include rental and for-sale housing, and they run the spectrum from new construction to substantial rehabilitation.

BSI arranges for and secures all of the construction, permanent, and gap financing for the project; brings investors with the needed equity to the deal; and is actively involved in negotiating, structuring, and closing the various financial transactions.

Our organization has been extremely effective in utilizing two main funding sources including Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Housing Incentive Funds (HIF) allocations for our non-profit, for-profit, and housing authority clients under a very competitive application process.
